Further chemical investigation of the plant of Bruguiera gymnorrhiza led to the isolation of a new 8-hydroxyquercetagetin glycoside, namely brugymnoside A (1). The structure of the new isolate was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compound 1 was evaluated for its antioxidant activity by the cellular antioxidant assay method.
