A new lupane triterpenoid from the aerial part of Acanthopanax trifoliatus

A new lupane-triterpene carboxylic acid (1), together with two known 24-nor-lupane-triterpene carboxylic acids, 24-nor-11α-hydroxy-3-oxo-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid and 24-nor-3α,11α-dihydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid, were isolated from the aerial part of Acanthopanax trifoliatus. The structure of 1 was determined to be 11α,23-dihydroxy-3-oxo-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid on the basis of spectroscopic data, including IR, HR-ESI-MS, PMR, 13C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, HSQC, and HMBC, and comparison with published references.
