Paramagnetic derivatives of spiropyran have been obtained by condensation of paramagnetic N-iminium salts with o-hydroxyaromatic aldehydes. The structures of three of the six synthesized radicals were proven by X-ray structural analysis.

Notes

The study was financially supported by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation (grant 14.W03.31.0034).

All spectra were recorded and the data of elemental analysis were obtained at the Center of Collective Use of N. N. Vorozhtsov Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
