Power alert newscast planning for guaranteeing reliability in mobile wireless sensing element networks

Abstract

In mobile wireless sensing element networks (MWSEN), news casting and forward node selection system could result in redundancy, collision, congestion, performance degradation, newscast storm problem and so on. In order to beat these issues, in this paper we propose a power alert newscasting planning for guaranteeing reliability in mobile wireless sensing element networks (PANPGR). Here the number of nodes concerned with the newscasting operation is reduced (eliminating the nodes) using minimum connected dominating set rule. Then the newscast redundancy is decreased by choosing the forwarders using fuzzy logic on the parameters like delay, residual energy, and distance. Each node can renew cast solely when its coverage degree is higher than a threshold worth. This system aims to monitor and detect through sensors and communicates early warning data by wireless telemetry to disaster risk-reduction centers.We also propose an additional algorithm to minimize the collision, power consumption and increase the lifetime of the network using the newscast slot assignment rule, which satisfies the duty-cycle constraint, coverage constraint, and forwarding order constraint. The effectiveness of this proposed rule, in comparison with the broadcast algorithm with least redundancy (BALR) for WSN, is evaluated through NS-2 simulation. The proposed rule, in contrast to previous technique, relieves the energy consumption and provides high delivery proportion with reduced delay and jitter.
