Differentiation of jurassic and cretaceous Kalmykia crudes based on C14-C16 diamantanes

The distribution of hydrocarbons of diamond-like structure – C10-C13 adamantanes and C14-C16 diamantanes – in Kalmykia condensate lying in Cretaceous and Jurassic deposits was investigated by chromatography–mass spectrometry. It was shown that Jurassic and Cretaceous crudes can differ with respect to the relative distribution of C15-C16 methyl- and dimethyldiamantanes.
