Food Justice Now! isn’t really about food, or even the food movement. It is about the kind of movement food justice must become.

For many food activists and academics, food has long been an entry point for environmental and social change. Yet as the US food movement gained cultural prominence, it seems to have gotten stuck on food itself. Josh Sbicca takes a hard look at what it means to use food to advance social equity, with the promise that “Food politics that first identify the root causes of problems and then work to tackle those problems will thentransform people’s relationship with food.” (p4).
