Complete rupture of the hamstring origin in a road accident: 5-year follow-up
A rare case of posttraumatic rupture of the hamstring muscles at their origin in a young adult is reported. Lesional mechanisms, epidemiology and diagnostic tools are described. A conservative treatment was adopted because of the presence of other more severe pathologies, but functional results at the 5-year follow-up are unsatisfactory. We suggest surgical treatment of this uncommon lesion.
