With this first issue of 2018, Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS) is beginning its 20th year of publication, and KAIS is welcoming two new Co-Editors-in-Chief, Professor Diane Cook, from Washington State University in the USA, and Professor Dacheng Tao, from the University of Sydney in Australia, who will be sharing the Editor-in-Chief responsibilities with me.
With a distinguished collection of internationally renowned experts on the Editorial Board since its inception, KAIS has established itself as a premier journal in knowledge systems and advanced information systems, and many of the papers published in the journal have been influential in their respective topics. The journal’s 2016 impact factor is 2.004, ranked higher than several other first-rate journals. It has been listed as a top-2 journal (along with IEEE TKDE) in the Top Publications—Data Mining & Analysis by Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/citations?view_op=top_venues&hl=en&vq=eng_datamininganalysis)...
