Abstract.

On the basis of the recently determined low-temperature crystal structure of phase III of methane, high-resolution tunneling spectra of 1.5% CH4 dissolved in CD4 are explained. The interpretation is based on tunneling matrix elements. T1 and T3 levels of molecules at the m-site show slower spin conversion than other levels.
