Abstract
We have grown an almost colorless La3Ga5SiO14 single crystal with a dimension of 26 mm using the Czochralski technique. X-ray powder diffraction of sintered material and the single crystal were performed at room temperature. The thermal expansion coefficients along Y and Z directions have been measured to be 5×10-6 K- 1 and 3.8×10-6 K-1, respectively. The specific heat of the crystal has been measured to be 0.90 J/g K at 453.15 K. The transmittance spectra from 200 to 800 nm were measured.
