Zusammenfassung
Im Rahmen der okklusalen Rehabilitation von Patienten mit kraniomandibulärer Dysfunktion (CMD) ist darauf zu achten, dass eine ausreichende Abstützung der Kiefergelenke durch natürliche Zähne oder Implantate besteht. Ein gingival getragener Zahnersatz kommt für diese Patientengruppe nicht infrage. Zudem muss zumindest im Rahmen der Frontzahnbeziehung häufig kieferorthopädisch vorgearbeitet werden. Nur bei Beachtung höchster Präzision und bestmöglicher statischer Zahnpositionierung kann eine CMD-Therapie durch okklusale Rehabilitation erfolgreich zum Abschluss gebracht werden.

Abstract
In the course of occlusal rehabilitation of patients with craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD), adequate support of the temporomandibular joint should be ensured by natural teeth or implants. A gingival prosthesis is not appropriate for this patient group. Furthermore, at least regarding the relationship of the anterior teeth, orthodontic preparation is often necessary. Only when attention is paid to achieving maximum precision and the best possible tooth position can treatment of CMD by occlusal rehabilitation be successfully accomplished.
