Invertible transformations acting on Orlicz spaces

Abstract.

We embed the group G of invertible transformations into the sets of all bounded linear operators on some Orlicz spaces and show that the inherited strong operator topologies coincide – this is a generalization of a theorem of J. R. Choksi and S. Kakutani for L ^p -spaces.¶Under an additional assumption, the linear span of the 3-rd power of the image of G is dense in the set of all bounded linear operators for the strong operator topology.
