simulation for class a surfaces of SMC parts

Abstract

The use of parts made of Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC) for automotive exterior applications has been established for several years. Compression moulded parts are applied successfully especially for medium-series vehicles and trucks. A simulation method developed by the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University together with industrial partners facilitates component design.
