Abstract

Bluetooth is a technology used to facilitate low power, short range wireless communication. Many of the available mobile clients such as mobile phones and PDAs already use a integrated Bluetooth interface for communication in the 2,4GHz band. Bluetooth enables new applications targeting the automotive market. Examples are the transmission of voice for wireless hands free units, data exchange with PDA and PC, telematics and more. This article by ARS Software GmbH, Munich, gives an introduction into the Bluetooth concept and automotive applications.
