New EGR coolers reduce emissions from diesel engines

If diesel engines are to meet future exhaust emissions limits, several emission-reducing technologies will have to be combined. Cooled exhaust gas recirculation will play a major role in this technology mix, since it prevents NOx from being produced. Now, a new exhaust cooler with an integrated bypass for use in passenger cars will also make it possible to reduce HC and CO emissions.
