Summary
The stability of the one-dimensional laminar flame propagating with an enthalpy gradient is investigated. It is shown that flames with zero enthalpy gradient are stable to arbitrary small disturbances. Flames propagating with positive enthalpy gradients are found to be stable and those with negative enthalpy gradients unstable when subject to small disturbances with enthalpy conservation.
