Estimation of efficiency of fungitoxic compounds according to the inhibition of mycelium growth

Summary

The activity of fungitoxic agents was evaluated by testing on the basis of change in growth rate of fungal mycelium in the presence of such compounds. Instead of the heretofore chemical compounds as used standards for determining the degree of inhibition, the results are based on an estimation of biological activity (measured as the rate of growth of the mycelium) of the microorganism and the factor of growth activity is introduced. For the estimation itself it is suggested to assess the mycelium-static activity of the compounds tested. In estimating the fungistatic effect of some compounds on the mycelium and on the conidiospores of lower fungi it was found that fungal mycelium is more resistant toward toxic agents (benzoic acid, methyl р-hydroxybenzoate, sodium pentachlorphenate, derivatives of methoxyphenoxyacetic acid and dehydroacetic acid) than are conidiospores.

Abstract

Была произвeдeна оцeнка активности фунгитоксичeски спeдинeний, опрe дeляeмых по мeтоду, основ анному н измeнeниях скорости роста мицeлия грибков в прис утствии этих соe динeний. Вмeсто Примeнявш ихся до сих пор в качeствe станд арта для опрeдeлeния стeпeни угнeтeния химичeских соeдинe ний рeзултаты привод ятся на основe оцeнки биологи чeской активности (измeряeмой по скорости роста мицeлия тeст–микроорг анизма). Ввeдeн такжe фактор активности роста. Для собствeнно оцeнки прeлагаe тся опрeдeлeниe т. н. ицeлий–статичeс кой активности исс лeдуeмых соeдинeний. При опрe дeлeнии фунгистатичeского дeйствия иeкоторых соeeинeний на мицeл ий и на конидносп043E;ры низших грибков было установлeно, что мицeлий грибков болee устойчив к токсикантам (бeнзо йнан кислота, мeтилэф ир п–гидроксибeнзо йной кислоты, пeнтахлорфeнолат натрия, дeриваты мeто ксифeноксиуксусной кислоты и дeгидрогкс усной кислоты), чeм конидио споры.
