Serum vitamin a level of Secondary School Children

Conclusions

The social class and family size had significant association with the prevalen of vitamin A deficiency. Birth order of t children had no influence on the prevalen of this condition. The condition was mo commonly encountered in those havi enlarged tonsils. Serum vitamin A at carotenoids were lower in children wi vitamin A deficiency signs than in health children. Parasitic infestation had an influence on serum vitamin A and caroten levels. This needs further research determine the mechanism by which intestinal parasites lower the serum vitamin and carotene levels.
