Conclusion

The potential for educational programs to improve the learning process for students is no longer a matter of dispute. Software provides graphical representations that allow students to focus on concepts and simulate problems they could not study previously.

For programmers, software development has advanced to the point where writing the program is relatively easy. It’s the program content and presentation format which require most of the development time.

Educational software is a growing market. With students and schools buying more computers, the demand for software will continue to grow. Improvements in software, such as the Windows environment, and hardware, such as CD-ROM drives and sound systems, will continue to affect the types of programs developed.

Still, the final responsibility for creating educational applications rests with software developers. It is up to them to combine all of the development tools and technology advancements to create effective teaching programs.
