Abstract

The author’s achievments in his research and implementation of chrome plating from chrome solutions containing 60 to 120 g/l CrO3 are reviewed, namely: potentiodynamic and galvanostatic investigations of the cathodic process; its current efficiency, throwing and covering power, and coatings’ appearance; pulsating modes of plating; hydrogen absorption by steel and coatings and the internal friction of the latter; hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion-electrochemical properties of coatings; and corrosivity of electrolytes.
