Effects ofD-state admixture and hard-core radius on the photoproduction of neutral pions from deuterons

Summary

The effects of the inclusion ofD-state admixture and the hard-core radius in the ground state of the deuteron on the differential cross-section for the elastic photoproduction of neutral pions have been studied in the impulse approximation using the amplitudes of Chewet al. The differential cross-section is found to be not very sensitive to the variation of the hard-core radius. AD-state admixture of 3% is found to yield a reasonable agreement with experimental results.

Nell’approssimazione dell’impulso, facendo uso delle ampiezze diChewet al., si sono studiati gli effetti dell’inclusione della miscela di statoD e del raggio del nocciolo duro nello stato fondamentale del deutone sulla sezione d’urto differenziale per la fotoproduzione elastica di pioni neutri. Si trova che la sezione d’urto differenziale non è molto sensibile alle variazioni del raggio dal nocciolo duro. Si trova che una miscela di statoD del 3% dà un accordo ragionevole con i risultati sperimentali.
