Estimation of possibilities for detecting subsurface layer inhomogeneities by sounding from the earth’s surface

Abstract

We propose a method for calculating electromagnetic fields above a three-layered medium, which is based on using the attenuation function and impedance boundary conditions, and present the results of modeling the two-position sounding of such a medium with, reference to detection of a layer that is the second from the surface.
