Summary

Ground conditions in the schists and gneisses in the foundations of the completed Kirdjali arch dam on the Arda river, Bulgaria are described. Tectonic jointing has determined the deformational properties of five types of rock mass, three types of rock mass were delimited as likely to control sliding failure in the foundations. Quantitative assessments, including the results of plate loading tests, are given.

Facteurs geotechniques de la stabilite des fondations rocheuses du barrage voute de Kirdjali

Résumé

L'article décrit les conditions concernant le bed-rock de schistes et de gneiss qui constitueront la fondation du barrage voûte de Kirdjali sur la rivière Arda (Bulgarie). La fissuration d'origine tectonique a déterminé, en ce qui concerne la déformation, les propriétés de cinq types de massifs rocheux dont trois types furent délimités comme susceptibles de provoquer une rupture des fondations par glissement. On donne des résultats quantitatifs, en particulier les résultats d'essais de chargement à la plaque.
