Liquid Helium

An unusual periodic flow state has been observed in a normal liquid3He−4He mixture in a cylindrical container. This state exhibits “saw-tooth” temperature oscillations with a recovery time two orders of magnitude faster than the vertical thermal diffusion time. The observations are discussed in terms of recent theory.
