Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The temporary structures should have been designed with the same degree of reliability as that of the permanent structures.

     
  2. 2.

    Under the extreme and difficult conditions of construction in the Far North it is necessary to use only equipment proved by experience that can operate for a long time under all conditions without repair.

     
  3. 3.

    It was necessary to design the temporary outlet with consideration of permanent operation of the hydrostation.

     
  4. 4.

    It was necessary to make the transition from temporary to permanent operation controllable. It was advisable to provide for the possibility of discharging water during filling of the reservoir and thereby to regulate the level of the upper pool during filling. Furthermore, this outlet should serve for emptying the reservoir if necessary.
