Use of hydraulic mechanization for clearing away the gorge slopes at the construction site of the Toktogul hydroelectric station

Conclusions
- 1.
The use of various types of monitor devices under appropriate conditions in combination with other methods of operation is effective in excavating natural slopes and mounds of blasted rock.
- 2.
When light-weight hydraulic devices are used (fire-hose nozzles, carriage-borne nozzles) one need only lay water mains which are tapped by flexible rubberized hoses, which is quite valuable under conditions of a complex relief.
- 3.
The selection of the method of excavation in any case should be substantiated by comparing the alternatives. The effectiveness of a particular method depends also on the volume of earth excavation.
- 4.
It is desirable that the production of various types of monitors with various parameters, from powerful stationary devices to light-weight transportable ones adapted for rapid hand transport and assembly under conditions of steep slopes, be organized.
