Conclusions

1. Psychophysiological and electrophysiological examination of a group of children revealed a close correlation between the asymmetry coefficient calculated from the psychophysiological parameters and the asymmetry coefficient based on the mean levels of coherence between all pairs of leads arranged according to the 10–20 system.

2. In addition to conventional methods of cerebral dominance testing, special test questionnaires were used for determining IPHA of children.

3. An algorithm for calculation of the coefficient of asymmetry of bioelectrical activity within various frequency ranges was developed. The obtained coefficient is linear with respect to the value of bioelectrical activity of the dominant hemisphere.

4. An objective criterion of the efficacy of rehabilitation and correction procedures can be developed based on the electrophysiological parameters of brain activity.
