Summary

The right eye with complicated cataract and secondary glaucoma, of a 1 year old boy was suspected of diktyoma. The diagnosis was ascertained by histopathological examination after the enucleation. Parts of the tumor were studied with electron microscope. The electron microscopy of the diktyoma revealed various areas and structures; such as “tumor mass area”, three types of rosettes, areas of epithelioid arrangement, areas with two types of presumed nerve fiber bundles in an area of which “synaptic lamellae” were found, and a connective tissue area with blood vessels. The fine structure of these is described and discussed.
