Environmental factors control the periodical reproduction of tropical electric fish

Summary

By varying environmental factors, gonad growth and spawning could be induced inEigenmannia virescens andMarcusenius spec. The same factors can lead to gonad reduction. These fish have no “postbreeding refractoriness”.
