Dopamine and drugs

Abstract

In this review both anatomy and function of dopaminergic nerve cells are discussed. A disturbance in dopamine transmission can be related to a number of diseases. The differences between two hypothetical types of dopamine receptors are described, as well as a number of drugs, affecting one or both of these receptors.
