Synthesis of monoesters ofD-sorbitol and aromatic acids

Abstract

Water-soluble monoesters ofD-sorbitol with aromatic acids have been synthesized by the transesterification of their methyl esters. The structures of the compounds obtained have been confirmed by IR, UV, and13C NMR spectroscopies.
