The design of waffle plates taking strength into consideration

Abstract

An algorithms for the design of waffle plates with the required rigidity and strength properties is proposed. In calculation of the rigidities and average strength criterion asymptotically accurate equations are used. A method of modification of the algorithms for the purposed of optimum design is shown. The method is extended to the case of fatigue strength. All of the problems presented are solved within the limits of a common approach and common software. In consideration of new problems such as taking into consideration thermoelastic effects the software is supplemented with processes for calculation of the corresponding properties.
