Serum Lipoproteine in Familien von Herzinfarktpatienten
Zusammenfassung
Brüder und Söhne von Herzinfarktpatienten haben eine niedrigere HDL-Cholesterin Konzentration als eine Kontrollgruppe. Diese Resultate stimmen mit den beobachteten niedrigeren HDL-Cholesterin Konzentrationen bei Herzinfarktpatienten selbst überein. Die LDL und VLDL Konzentrationen bei Brüdern und Söhnen von Herzinfarktpatienten sind nicht erhöht im Vergleich zur Kontrollgruppe.
Das niedrige HDL-Cholesterin könnte ein Ausdruck eines familiären Defektes im Cholesterintransport sein.
Serum lipoproteins in first degree relatives of coronary patients
Summary
Men 40 to 59 years old, first degree relatives of patients with myocardial infarction had a lower HDL-cholesterol concentration than a control group. This is in analogy with the low concentration of HDL-cholesterol observed in the myocardial infarction patients themselves. LDL and VLDL in relatives were not elevated in comparison to the controls.
The low HDL-cholesterol could be the expression of a familial defect in cholesterol transport.
