Infrared spectroscopic evidence for the formation of carbonite CO 2 2− ions in CO interaction with basic oxide surfaces

Abstract

Infrared studies of12C16O,13C16O and12C18O adsorption at 60–300 K on thermally activated CaO and MgO indicate that the CO interaction with O2− ions yields CO 2 2− ions. These ions are the intermediates of more complex surface compounds and are responsible for the CO isotope exchange with surface oxygen.

Abstract

Исследование адсорбции12C16O,13C16O и12C18O при 60–300 K на термически активированных CaO и MgO методом ИК-спектроскопии показало, что в результате взаимодействия CO с ионами O2− образуются ионы CO 2 2− , которые являются промежуточным продуктом при образовании более сложных поверхностных соединений и ответственны за низкотемпературный изотопный обмен CO с кислородом на поверхности.
