The incidence of yeasts in cases of vaginitis and children with oral thrush in the Sudan

Summary

The yeast flora of the vagina in 190 Sudanese women and the yeasts causing oral thrush in 25 children were determined.

The incidence of vaginal yeasts especiallyCandida albicans was found to be high in both pregnant and non-pregnant groups.C. albicans was isolated from 44 % of pregnant women and 15 % of non-pregnant women.
