Zusammenfassung
Der Zwei-Ebenen-Bogen unterscheidet sich vom üblichen Ein-Ebenen-Bogen dadurch, daß Schenkel und Mittelstück, also bewegende und federnde Abschnitte, nicht in 1, sondern in 2 Ebenen liegen, die optimal einen rechten Winkel bilden.
Dadurch wird die Expansionswirkung außerordentlich verändert, und zwar weicher, gleichmäßiger und extensiv statt intensiv.
Das Zwei-Ebenen-Prinzip ist nicht auf eine bestimmte Bogenart beschränkt. Die Bogenstärken schwanken zwischen 0,65 bis 0,8 mm bei dem Spezialmaterial „Degussa“1.

L'arc à deux plans se différencie de l'arc habituel à un plan en ce que les branches et la partie médiane, c'est-à-dire les portions mobiles et élastiques, ne se trouvent pas situées dans un plan unique, mais dans deux plans qui, pour produire les meilleurs effets, doivent être perpendiculaires l'un à l'autre.
De cette façon les forces d'expansion sont entièrement changées, et deviennent plus faibles, plus égales et de longue durée au lieu d'être intenses.
Le principe des deux plans n'est pas limité à un genre particulier d'arcs. Les diamètres des arcs varient de 0 mm., 65 à 0 mm., 8 pour les arcs en métal spécial «Degussa».
The principle of the two-plane arch
Synopsis
The two-plane arch differs from the usual one plane arch in that both branches and middle-piece, i. e. the movable and springy portions, lie not only in one plane, but in two, which should, at best be at right angles to each other.
This brings about an unusual change in the expansion force, which becomes weaker and more even and extensive instead of intensive.
The two plane principle is not limited to any one specified kind of arch. The gauge of the arch-wire varies from 0,65 mm. to 0,8 mm. in the special “Degussa“ material.
