Sennosides and carbohydrates in developing pods of Cassia species

The content of sennosides and carbohydrates decreased with the maturation of pods. They were found to be maximum in 2 day and minimum in 20 day old pods ofCassia angustifolia, C. acutifolia andC. italica. No sennosides were found in 15 and 20 day old pods ofC. italica.
