The influence of pre-illumination on the work function of cuprous oxide

It was found that the large change of electrical conductivity of cuprous oxide caused by illumination is not connected with a permanent change of the electron work function. This confirms the assumption that the electrical conductivity increase due to illumination is a pure bulk effect.
