Theory of nuclear and magnetic neutron small angle scattering at dislocations in anisotropic cubic crystals

Abstract

An analytic expression for the dilatation and the stress tensor in reciprocal space due to dislocations in anisotropic cubic crystals is deduced. From this absolute values of nuclear and magnetic small angle scattering cross sections are calculated. For Cu and Ni they differ considerably from the values calculated with the assumption of elastic isotropy. The new presentation of scattering theory allows further the discussion of the interference in scattering between dislocations in a dislocation network.
