Conclusions
Unfired material based on alloyed lanthanum chromite and chrome-phosphate bond, after low-temperature treatment (300°C) possesses a relatively high electric conductivity and strength. The strength of the material close to that of ordinary granular ceramic is attained by heat treatment above 1000°C, and the electric conductivity about 1500°C.
Lanthanum phosphate formed during reaction of the bond with the lanthanum chromite acts as an additive, which speeds up the sintering and grain growth.
The concentration of the bond and the iron impurities have the greatest influence on the electric conductivity of the unfired material at 20°C.
The alkali resistance of the unfired material is below that of the ceramic.
