Zusammenfassung
Es wird eine neue Einteilung geschlossener und offener Frakturen vorgestellt:I. Geschlossene Frakturen: FrGO = Geringer Weichteilschaden, einfache Bruchform; FrGI = Oberflächliche Schürfung, einfache bis mittelschwere Bruchform; FrGII = Tiefe kontaminierte Schürfung, lokalisierte Hautoder Muskelkontusion, alle Bruchformen; FrGIII = Ausgedehnte Hautkontusion, Hautquetschung, Zerstörung der Muskulatur, alle Bruchformen. 2. Offene Frakturen: FrOI = Fehlende oder geringe Kontusion, bakterielle Kontamination (+), einfache bis mittelschwere Bruchformen; FrOII = Umschriebene Haut- und Weichteilkontusion, Kontamination (++); FrOII = Ausgedehnte Weichteildestruktion, häufig Gefäß- und Nervenverletzungen, starke Wundkontamination; FrOIV = Totale und subtotale Amputationen.

Summary
A new classification of open and closed fractures is presented. Closed fractures include minor softtissue damage and simple fractures (FxCO); superficial excoriation, contusion and simple to moderately severe fractures (FxCI); deep contaminated excoriation, circumscribed skin or muscle contusion and moderately severe to severe fractures (FxCII); extensive skin and muscle contusion, subcutaneous damage, decompensated compartment syndrome, all fracture types (FxCIII). The open fractures include minor or no contusion, minor bacterial contamination and simple to moderately severe fractures (FxOl); circumscribed skin and soft-tissue contusion, moderate contamination and all fractures (FxOll); extensive soft-tissue damage with frequent vessel and nerve lesions, extreme contamination, all fractures types (FxOIII); total and subtotal amputation (FxOIV).
