Summary

Prostaglandin E1 (administered by intravenous infusion at the dosis of 5.6μg/kg/min.) (markedly decreases plasma free fatty acids in Sprague-Dawley rats treated with ACTH or norepinephrine or exposed to cold.

The blocking effect is absent in fasted animals, indicating a specific effect of PGE1 on the hormone-activated lipase.
