Conclustions

  1. 1.

    Preliminary treatment of alumina with KOH increases the catalytic activity of an MoO3-Al2O3 catalyst. The curve of the specimen activity vs alkali content passes through a maximum.

  2. 2.

    Treatment with HCl vapor activates a WO3-SiO3 catalyst, and decativates an MoO3-Al2O3 catalyst, in propylene disproportionation.

  3. 3.

    According to the IR spectra, when propylene is adsorbed on a catalyst obtained by deposition of Mo(CO)6 onto Al2O3, it is coordinated by the molybdenum atom.
