Abstract

A case study shows how long-term residential treatment can help a severely disturbed adolescent. An anorexic girl was assessed and treated for behavioral, emotional, cognitive, physiological and other problems. Multimodal therapy employed several complementary techniques. A child care worker assigned to the “keyworker” role was central to treatment, helping to develop and implement the treatment plan in the context of a personal relationship.
