Electrochemical studies of azido(imidazole) cobaloxime complexes

Summary
Cyclic voltammetric studies of a series of azido(imidazole) cobaloxime complexes in acetonitrile with tetraethylammonium perchlorate as the supporting electrolyte reveal the presence of the central cobalt atom in these complexes in the +III state. In addition to reductions to cobalt(II), cobalt(I) and cobalt(0) species, evidence for oxidation to cobalt(IV) also was noted.
