Open dichotomous venation in the leaves ofUtricularia striatula (Lentibulariaceae)

Abstract

The open dichotomous pattern of venation in the leaves ofUtricularia striatula is described in detail and compared withCircaeaster andKingdonia. Similar traits of dichotomous venation occur in other species ofUtricularia and may be due to reduction.
