Telomerization of methyl ackylate and methyl methacrylate with 1,1,1,3-tetrachloropropane, initiated by iron Pentacarbonyl and a nucleophilic reagent

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A study was made of the telomerization of methyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate with tetrachloropropane, initiated by the systems: Fe(CO)5 + dimethylformamide; or Fe(CO)5 + dimethylaniline. With a threefold excess of the telogen this reaction leads to a mixture of telomer homologs with the structure: ClCH2CH2CCl2(CH2CXCO2CH3)nCl and CLCH2CH2CCL2(CH2CXCO2CH3)2H, where X=H; CH3; n=1–3.

    A study was made of the catalytic reduction of the obtained telomers with hydrogen over Pd/Ba · SO4.
