Study of fractionation products of lignocarbohydrate complexes

    Homogeneous and low-molecular fractions were isolated by the dialysis and subsequent gel chromatography of the lignocarbohydrate complexes of spruce wood, in which, in all probability, the lignin is attached to the carbohydrates by a chemical bond.

    When compared with the other preparations that have the same qualitative carbohydrate composition, the fraction with the lowest molecular weight is characterized by a greater homogeneity due to a higher amount of mannose.
