Telomerization of ethylene with acetonitrile and capronitrile

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The telomerization of ethylene with acetonitrile and capronitrile goes with a rearrangement of the radicals and a 1,5 migration of the hydrogen atom.

  2. 2.

    A measurement of the partial chain transfer constants and the relative isomerization constant in the telomerization of ethylene with acetonitrile revealed that the rearrangement goes to less degree in the given reaction than in the reactions of ethylene with methyl acetate, propionitrile, and methyl propionate.
