The search for kinin-like compounds in the series of derivatives of 2- and 4-aminopyrimidine

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    In the interaction of 2,4-dichloro-6-methylpyrimidine with benzylamine, a mixture of 2-chloro-4-benzylamino- and 2-benzylamino-4-chloro-6-methylpyrimidine is formed, dehalogenation of which leads to 4-benzylamino- and 2-benzylamino-6-methylpyrimidine, respectively.

  2. 2.

    In the reaction of 6-methyluraeil with the tribenzylamide of phosphoric acid, 2,4-dibenzylamino-6-methylpyrimidine was formed.

  3. 3.

    4-Benzylamino-6-methylpyrimidine and its 2-chloro derivative possess high cytokinin activity, while 2-benzyla.mino-6-methylpyrimidine and 2-mercapto-4-benzylamino-6-methylpyrimidine possess appreciable cytokinin activity.
